Anderson’s homer would be the only damage Wood allowed through his seven innings, but the White Sox didn’t make it easy, putting balls in the air while tallying six hits against the All-Star.
“Kind of a weird night,” Wood said after the Dodgers’ 6-1 win. “I didn’t feel like I had my best stuff. It’s kind of an interesting dynamic because they’ve been one of the most aggressive teams in all of baseball, it was a lot more of my secondary stuff tonight. I feel like we were able to command that for the most part.”
“It was a big spot,” manager Dave Roberts said. “For him to get out of it was really big.”
