Roberts said Seager will rejoin the Dodgers on Saturday for the final Freeway Series game at Dodger Stadium. Roberts stressed that Seager is healthy and expected to play Opening Day, April 3 against the Padres.
By constrast, Kazmir will go on the disabled list with an unspecified left hip injury that has contributed to an alarming lack of velocity. In his Sunday start against Texas, his first in three weeks, Kazmir averaged 84 mph and topped out at 87 mph.
Roberts excused Kazmir from Monday’s workout and expected him back in camp on Tuesday. Kazmir missed most of the last two months of last season with back and neck issues.
