Firefighters made their stand Monday July 31, 2017 against a brush fire that erupted on the west end of Lake Elsinore and scorched more than 200 acres, prompting evacuations and road closures. The Rose fire was reported about 2:20 p.m. Monday in the 14800 block of Amorose Street, near Grand Avenue, on the edge of the Cleveland National Forest, the Riverside County Fire Department reported.

The fire forced evacuations, which were lifted later Monday night. The fire may have been started by a homeowner who was trying to clear some brush. Below, images from residents in the area in western Riverside County.
