Kurt Cobain, the soul of the band Nirvana and walking definition of Grunge, died April 5 1994. The summer before that, Nirvana was at its height. It’s highly acclaimed “In Utero” was about to be released and the band was touring. Jesse Frohman, a sought after photographer was tapped for a photo session with Cobain the afternoon before Nirvana was to play Roseland in New York City. Frohman waited and waited and waited. Finally, three and a half hours late the very stoned 26-year-old Cobain walked in for what would be his final professional photo shoot.
The result is a captivating new book, “Kurt Cobain: The Last Session,” by Jesse Frohman.
