Two out of the ordinary Westerns arrive as the first films from the Olive Signature collection. Boasting 4K restorations and a host of special features, they are a welcome addition to the home video world.
“Johnny Guitar,” from emotional stylist Nicholas Ray, is a Western where the women are tougher than the men, with Joan Crawford as a saloon owner and Mercedes McCambridge as her bete noir being the toughest of the bunch.
“High Noon,” the multiple Oscar winning classic from Fred Zinneman, has Gary Cooper as a beleaguered lawman fighting the clock and Grace Kelly as his pacificist Quaker bride.
