A 25-year-old Canoga Park man who was pronounced dead in a double shooting earlier this month in Sherman Oaks was identified Tuesday by coroner’s officials.

Cyrus Kamyar Mahmoudi was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m. March 15 from multiple gunshot wounds, said Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

The incident was reported as a call of multiple gunshots fired around 1:20 a.m. in the 5100 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, Sgt. Steve Gottschalk of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Station said previously. The Canoga Park man was found in an alley and the Los Angeles Fire Department declared him deceased, officials had said.

The relationship between the deceased and a second man at the scene who was injured with head trauma was unknown, said LAPD Officer Irma Mota.

LAPD Operations-Valley Bureau Homicide, which responded to the incident, is handling the investigation, police said.
